Where Was Elisabeth?
The Fritzl family were understandably worried about Elisabeth’s disappearance. Her mother filed a missing person’s report, and was likely sure that the police would return Elisabeth just as they had before. That wasn’t the case this time. Where had Elisabeth gone? The clues weren’t just there, but eventually, Josef produced a letter that he said was from Elisabeth. The letter was postmarked from Braunau am In, a town on the Austria-Germany border. Rosemarie was shocked when she read the letter.
