Nikki Blonsky
There have been so many versions of Hairspray that we’ve lost count. The 2007 version of Hairspray starred Nikki Blonsky in the iconic role of a Baltimore teen who learns about civil rights through a dance competition. After the movie, Blonsky struggled to find work in the acting world. She did not get any roles between 2013 and 2016, when she worked at a shoe store and as a makeup artist at Superstar Salon in Great Neck, New York. Blonsky has not given up on her acting dreams, however. She still auditions and got a role in an animated movie called Pup Star. In 2017, she appeared in a movie with Burt Reynolds and Ariel Winter. Blonsky is not quitting her day job, though.
